Anthony Joshua Needs Time to Mourn Before Deciding on His Boxing Future

According to Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua requires time to come to terms with his loss before making a decision about his future in boxing, but Hearn believes Joshua will eventually return to the ring. This comes after Joshua's close friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Ayodele, were killed in a car accident in Nigeria on December 29. Joshua was also in the vehicle and sustained minor injuries. The incident occurred just 10 days after Joshua's victory over Jake Paul in Miami, his first fight since being defeated by Daniel Dubois in September 2024. Hearn stated, 'I've had a few conversations with him, but it's only now that we're talking more because it's going to take time to get over something like that.' Hearn plans to visit Joshua as a friend, without discussing his boxing career, allowing him the time and space he needs to grieve. Hearn added that if Joshua never fought again, it would be understandable, but he believes Joshua will want to return to boxing after he has had time to process his emotions.
