Gordon Committed to Hearts Despite Limited Playing Time

Craig Gordon, the 43-year-old goalkeeper, has expressed his commitment to staying with Hearts, despite not having made an appearance for the Scottish Premiership leaders this season. His only recent competitive action was for Scotland in their World Cup qualification matches against Greece and Denmark in November. Speculation had suggested that Gordon, currently second choice behind Alexander Schwolow, might consider a loan move to increase his chances of starting for the national team at the World Cup. However, Gordon emphasized his focus on training and being ready for an opportunity at Hearts. "I've been training well and feel I'm close to getting a chance here," he stated. "My priority is to ensure I'm as fit as possible and ready to contribute to the team's success if given the opportunity." When asked about the possibility of a loan move, Gordon replied, "You can't rule it out entirely, but for now, I'm happy to support the team and help them secure points to maintain our position at the top of the league." Hearts are currently three points ahead of Rangers and six points ahead of Celtic, aiming to become the first non-Old Firm team to win the league since Aberdeen in 1985. Although Gordon misses playing, he is utilizing his experience from winning titles with Celtic to support his teammates. "I do feel a bit envious when the boys take to the pitch," he admitted. "We're a strong team, and it's enjoyable to be part of it. While I'd love to be out there helping, I can also contribute behind the scenes to ensure we're all working together towards our goal."
