As part of the agreement, Bristol City, Semenyo's former club, will receive 20% of the profit made on the transfer. Manchester City were the sole club to express interest in triggering Semenyo's release clause, despite earlier interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Chelsea. The club intends to retain Savinho and Omar Marmoush, even if Semenyo joins the team. Meanwhile, Oscar Bobb is attracting interest from other clubs while nursing an injury. Manchester City's manager, Pep Guardiola, has hinted that the club may engage in further transfer activity in January due to the growing list of injured players, including centre-backs Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol. Although Guardiola has ruled out a repeat of last year's £176m January spending spree, he has not entirely dismissed the possibility of adding to the squad to address the injury concerns.
